Becky Ramer is the owner of DriveTek,
Transmission Training Academy. Following several
years of research and development into the transmission
industry, Ramer bought our four partners to stand-alone
in this adventure. Becky is a graduate of Indiana
University and has a diverse background in the world
of education. Teaching job skills to adults with
disabilities for the first twenty years of her career,
she is able to bring vocational training skills
to this industry. DriveTek,
Transmission Training Academy has offered Becky
the opportunity to gather some of the most talented
technicians and mechanics to the cause of Education.
Believing in training is the corner stone upon
which DriveTek has been built. “Our industry
– the vehicle repair industry – is
changing so drastically that we must constantly
train to keep up.” Becky provides job seeking
and keeping skill classes to all students interested
in placement following certification. Job development
is included in tuition and placement geographically
is possible all over the country.
Becky and her husband David live
in Jeffersonville. They have four adult children
and eight grandchildren.
DriveTek, Transmission Training Academy, Director
of Education is Steve Atwell.
Steve has been with DriveTek for over six years.
Steve brings real life experience from profitable
transmission repair stores as well as a thirst
for new knowledge. Steve works with each student
and each instructor toward an individualized training
program. Steve has built over 1200 transmissions
during his tenure to insure his bench skills stay
sharp. (All instructors of DriveTek are expected
to build late model transmissions regularly to
keep the edge of the constantly changing units
we see in the auto industry today.)
Steve works with all instructors
toward curricula development. Steve works toward
developing a technicians strengths and improving
skills to enhance job performance. Steve has worked
with shop owners across the United States toward
specific training tracks to improve specific areas
of their shop performance.
Steve teaches classes and oversees
the curricula for DriveTek at Ivy Tech State College
and Jasper Engines and Transmissions. Steve has
written articles for National Trade Magazines
such as Gears and Transmission Digest. Steve is
open to discussion regarding unique training tracks.

Steve lives in Louisville, Kentucky
and spends his free time with his two daughters,
Aubrey and Kelsey. Steve and the girls are involved
in karate and all forms of hunting fishing and
traping.
DriveTek has a director of student
services that includes recruitment. Brandi
Haus dedicates most of her years to recruitment
of students within 100 miles of DriveTek. Brandi
schedules presentations at high school and vocational
technical schools across the states of Indiana,
Missouri, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. Brandi
also provides support to students throughout their
time at DriveTek. Brandi arranges housing and
transportation for students traveling to DriveTek
from other States.
Brandi organizes presentations
from the major tool companies and takes students
to tour major parts suppliers during their training.
It is Brandi who insures students away from home
for the first time for extended training, get
connected to local opportunities. In the event
a student wants to keep up a physical training
regimen during their training, Brandi will facilitate
membership at a local gym. In the event a student
has a specific interest/hobby, Brandi will connect
the student to appropriate venues. Brandi takes
special interest in the students attending classes
at DriveTek. If you need part time employment
while you train, she’s the connection.
Brandi and her husband Jimmy
live in Sellersburg, Indiana with their children
Clayton and Alexis.
Dale Clover,
owner of Clover Cycle Works, teaches at DriveTek
two days per week. Dale offers entry-level technicians
an opportunity to understand theory and principles
of operation from a classroom perspective. Dale
came on board the DriveTek team originally in
1999 and returns as the student population demands.
Dale is the “Motorcycle Man” who knows
a whole lot about repairing vehicles. Dale offers
hands-on classroom instruction making theory interesting.
Dale spends
his free time entertaining and being entertained
by his new puppy Ella and his five precious grandchildren.
