DriveTek offers year-round training in several tracks
as follows:
REMOVAL AND REINSTALLATION:
This 120-hour training classes involves
classroom discussion and hands-on experience with
rear wheel drive vehicles, front wheel drive vehicles
and all wheel drive vehicles. Information is given
regarding removal and reinstallation tips from
“the old guys” and the “new
guys”. Technicians receive instruction regarding
cooler lines and auxiliary coolers. Wiring harness
and on-vehicle repair of some solenoids is included.
Cost - $3000
ELECTRICITY/ELECTRONICS
COURSE: 3 days – 10 hours per day.
Stop missing profits with this electricity class.
Understand how a/c & d/c voltages are used.
Training is designed to help Technicians more
accurately diagnose any series or parallel transmission
circuit. Receive in-depth description of how solenoids
and sensors work. This class is designed for Technicians
who are already working in the transmission repair
industry. Reading wiring and pin-out diagrams
is expected. Students must bring their own digital
multimeter.
Cost - $600
DIAGNOSTICS TRAINING:
3 days – 10 hours per day
Is it electronic or mechanical? This is the question
you will answer by taking this track of training.
Learn how the geartrain of today’s transmissions
work. Receive hydraulic diagrams and explanations
for different types of gear trains. Learn how
pressure is controlled and how to repair pressure
problems. Learn the difference between fully electronic
transmissions and units such as 4T60E. During
this training each student will build a piece
of test equipment for use on any electronic transmission.
The cost of the materials to build this equipment
is included in the tuition.
Cost - $800
REBUILDING: 520 Hours-Automatic
transmissions-Domestic; 520 Hours – Automatic
transmissions – Imports. 520 Hours –
Standard Transmissions
Each of these three sessions includes the rebuilding
of approximately 15 transmissions. Tear down techniques,
parts identification and sourcing and the rebuilding
of the unit. Each student-built unit is dyno-tested
for accuracy. Progression to the next unit depends
on successful dyno-testing. Each student progresses
at their own pace on individual units. Technical
manuals for each of the units built are included
in tuition.
This track of training has a
prerequisite of the DriveTek 1040 training OR
1-3 years experience in the transmission repair
industry.
Cost - $12,000
COMPREHENSIVE TRANSMISSION
TECHNICAL TRAINING: 1040 Hours of training.
This track of training is intended for the entry-level
technician. Learn all major facets of driveline
theory, maintenance and repair. The primary goal
of this module is to develop skills necessary
to ensure an individuals’ placement in a
transmission shop environment. Students will be
introduced to repair of transmissions, driveshaft
and constant velocity joint service. Removal and
reinstallation of front and rear drive transmissions
and an introduction to transmission diagnosis.
Cost - $15,000
